Yes, I told my husband that Alaska is for when we get older, five cruises later we ARE older (42 & 44) So we are doing a south bound on the Coral. We used Super Shuttle, he picked us up in the baggage claim at 10:30, and we were at the port by 11:15, we were in group #2 to board. We really enjoyed the ship too, I did play Bingo a few times and the casino, did not win a thing, I saw the jackpot and cruise for two go to some happy people! I was surprised too when we went to our room before the buffet, which was sooo crowded. It did get better throughout the cruise. We did both specialty dinners, so much food, but so good, and ate so much pizza, which was very good. My son told us about this brat, who he tried to play tennis with, he tried to hang with my son, but my husband told the boy my son was not interested in hanging out with him, he told my husband he (my husband) was weird, there is always 1 in the bunch. I saw most men were dressed in suits rather that a tux, women in dresses or pantsuits, we did go to the Buffet one night when the Anytime dining was full, which was just fine, the food was great! Too bad we didn't see each other, we met a few very nice people though. Enjoy the crapy weather that we have to put up with now, until next time!

I almost think I wouldn't eat as much if I had stuck with the buffet some nights as well! I'm really happy that you got booked on the Alaska. My hubby is actually drooling over another carribbean but on the new ship, the crown... we'll see

Excellent review…

I have a question about the Jeep Safari and beach visit tour that you took. I read somewhere that this tour takes you along the side of a mountain on a very narrow road and that the person that took this tour felt very unsafe. We will be on this cruise in January and have booked this same tour but would like your feedback.

we never felt unsafe at anytime during this jeep trip. I'm not sure what narrow road that person took... we did not go on any narrow road at all. Some of the roads at certain times weren't as wide for two vehicles to pass but there was always room to slide to the right to let the other vehicle get by. There was always enough room to scoot past the sleeping cows on the road as well. Just know that this is a dirty tour..... the jeeps are open and the roads are sand/dirt dusty. The straps on my daughter's white suit were brown. Back seat gets it worse as the windsheild protects the front seat passengers. so be prepared to come back dirty. and, you'll feel very safe at all points. Have fun!:)
