ninapintasantamaria Posted December 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2016 (edited) Hi, I just booked a cruise on the Celebrity Equinox. I have never cruised with Celebrity and was wondering if I could get some opinions of past cruisers on this boat. I booked room 1553 which is the Aqua class. Does anyone know anything about this line/boat/class/room? I should have asked before booking, but, Celebrity has a good special going and the rooms were being booked quickly. I have been on a few cruises, but, never with this line. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Vicjac Posted December 16, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2016 This was the best cruise I ever went on. You picked a Great Ship. The service, food and entertainment was awesome. Sent from my SM-N900V using Forums mobile app

ninapintasantamaria Posted December 16, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted December 16, 2016 That is the same date and same itinerary that I am going on. I am glad to hear that it was the best for you. Any tips?
Vicjac Posted December 16, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 16, 2016 The only thing I wouldn't do is anytime dining. We changed that on the 2nd. Night. The service on this ship is outstanding. You really won't be disappointed. Sent from my SM-N900V using Forums mobile app
Vicjac Posted December 16, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 16, 2016 Don't do anytime dining. I changed this after the 1st night. You won't be disappointed. Sent from my SM-N900V using Forums mobile app
Vicjac Posted December 16, 2016 #7 Share Posted December 16, 2016 Try Bistro on five when you board the ship. Not as crowded as the buffet when first arriving. Sent from my SM-N900V using Forums mobile app
agargoyle Posted December 17, 2016 #8 Share Posted December 17, 2016 Hi, I just booked a cruise on the Celebrity Equinox. We enjoy Aqua class because you have BLU for breakfast and dinner and the other little perks. My DH gets the escargot at least 3 times a cruise. You can always request something off the evenings main menu. We enjoy the quiet of breakfast in BLU. We do not use the spa on the Summit but yu do have access to it being Aqua. AquaClass® These veranda staterooms offer priority seating in the exclusive and chic specialty restaurant, Blu, featuring clean cuisine that puts a healthier twist on classic favorites. AquaClass also offers luxurious spa elements infused into the stateroom experience, unlimited access to the Relaxation Room (on Solstice Class) and Persian Garden, as well as a host of other soothing extras. If you love the spa, there's no finer way to travel.

You will be very happy with Celebrity:) We have 10+cruises with Celebrity and we are very happy. We have been on other lines and we feel nothing is as good as Celebrity. We are going to be on the Equinox in a week and are getting excited. You did not go wrong by booking and if you got such a good deal and you are real happy you can always book a future cruise while you are onboard. Enjoy your Cruise:):)
mattersfact2 Posted December 28, 2016 #10 Share Posted December 28, 2016 We will also be on Equinox next week - I have only been on the Solstice class ships with Celebrity so far (Reflection, Solstice, and next week - Equinox). The Aqua Class is basically the same as Concierge Class except you get the perks of eating at Blu, which is more or less, healthier eating, and you get spa perks. Otherwise, you get an expanded room service menu, afternoon canapes (which you must order and be present for after day 1), you get some welcome fruit and I think you might get a bottle of champagne maybe (?). You also can order from the pillow menu, but you will need to ask for it. The veranda is nice, and it's lovely to eat breakfast out there. The rooms are surprisingly roomy. You will get a schedule every afternoon/evening for the next day. If the cruise is at least 7 days (I think) there are 2 dress-up nights. These used to be formal wear, but they have relaxed that to "smart chic". There are shows every night, the casino is always humming, there are art auctions on every cruise (but it's not original art...it's reproduction glicee on canvas that someone added a few extra brush strokes to make it look real) - still, these are a bargain to purchase in comparison to the real deal. If you don't feel like eating at Blu, you can request seating in the main dining room, or you can go to the Ocean-something or other - buffet, which has a TON of selection. Watch out at lunch time, because the buffet gets crazy busy. There is also a burger grill place near the pool, and a variety of other places to each for an additional fee. Honestly, the food everywhere is good, buffet or otherwise. There are numerous bars, but unless you purchase a premium drink package, you will have to pay for the drinks at the martini bar and the molecular bar - those are top shelf. A classic drink package will pay for drinks up to $9, which is most of the time enough, and it covers even the fancy espresso beverages at Cafe al Bacio. Depending on the ship, there may be a glass blowing demonstration that is worth seeing - it will be top deck next to the lawn. Sunset Bar is on that same level, aft (to the rear) and is our favorite place to hang out because 1) it's a bar and 2) it's the only bar that allows cigar smoking. Near the elevators on different decks, you will find a library, a game area with board games, a lounge area, etc. There are bands playing somewhere every night. There are spots for karaoke. The gym is open all of the time with good quality equipment. The spa offers discounts when the ship is in port - take advantage of them. There is a movie theater and a film every night. There are theme parties. There are contests/games for prizes just about every night. There is an arcade room and a sport area for basketball and other activities. And there are paid activities that you can take advantage of, like a tour of the galley, a tour of the Captain's deck, a tour of the engine room, cooking classes, yoga classes, dance classes, on and on and on. You will never get board, and you will never have enough time to do everything. :p
mattersfact2 Posted December 28, 2016 #11 Share Posted December 28, 2016 Forgot to mention too - I love Celebrity and never cruised with anyone else. It will be hard for me to take a chance with another line. You are treated like first class. Service is impeccable. Food is divine. Accommodations are as nice as any 5 star hotel. dread_pirate Posted December 28, 2016 #12 Share Posted December 28, 2016 Try Bistro on five when you board the ship. Not as crowded as the buffet when first arriving. Sent from my SM-N900V using Forums mobile app It's not Bistro on Five anymore. It's now Sushi on Five on all Solstice-class ships. The sushi is a la carte pricing, not the $10 cover charge it used to be. Still good, but different.

sweetpk Posted December 30, 2016 #14 Share Posted December 30, 2016 I Just remember to call it a ship, especially in front of the officers, b/c it is a ship. Aqua class is the way to go, & you will have a great time, b/c it is a cut above many if not all of the main stream lines, including HAL and Cunard. I have been on about 11 cruises. For us, it is either Celebrity or higher, Crystal, Seaborn, Oceania, etc. Enjoy
