Fold-down beds?

I know this must sound like a silly question but how do you climb up and down those beds that fold down from the wall...especially since someone will be sleeping right below you???

 

We are thinking about letting our 17 yr old son sleep on one of these beds... Are they comfortable?

There is a ladder in the closet. I think the bed was very comfy, and the clearance was decent, for both top and bottom beds. There is also a light for reading above the top bed.

When the bed is not set up the ladder will be in the closet. When the bed is set up the Steward will put the ladder in place.

 

I did not find the bed particularly comfortable and I was happy to get back to my own bed, but it wasn't horrible either.
