dr__dawggy Posted January 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Is it safe to drink tap water in Buenos Aires? Yes, the water is safe with the same cautions you would have about drinking tap water anywhere beyond your home base--it will have a different set of minerals than your home water supply and may cause an upset stomach. i don't usually drink the tap water in BA or when I travel anywhere else in the world for this reason. However, if your stomach is strong enough, it's not a problem. I use tap water for tea and coffee as well as for washing vegetables and have never had a problem. In some countries you risk an infection if water gets in your eyes. Argentina is nothing like that.... However, out of an abundance of caution I usually drink Villavicencio brand of bottled spring water from the Andes.
pochito Posted January 11, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2017 Tap water in Buenos Aires is fine it just has a bit of chlorhine taste, but you will not get sick from drinking it. Enjoy your stay in my native Buenos Aires!
