cydspal Posted May 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2004 Where would you go for 5 hours in a rent a car from Skagway?
Rare taxatty Posted May 27, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2004 Look for posts from Yukon on the Alaska board--he has created a wonderful mile by mile itinerary from Skagway to Emerald Lake via Carcross.
epanic1 Posted May 28, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 28, 2004 I was in Skagway two years ago and took the train ride. It gave me some ideas where to go if I had a car. One place would be the old grave yard in Skagway. Lots of history and interesting people buried there. Also if you were to follow the train tracks you would get into some beautiful country that would be neat to see in a car. If you go outside of Skagway I'm sure you would see lots of wildlife as well. sunnyv Posted May 28, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2004 We rented a car from Avis in Skagway last summer and drove up to Emerald Lake. It was an amazing drive. You can stop at any of the many lookouts along the way. When you cross back into the US you do need a passport or birth certificate. Your DL is NOT ENOUGH to prove US citizenship.
