Las Palmas Beach/Pirates Bay On Your Own...Pirate Ship???

I am interested in taking my family to Las Palmas Beach. We were there two years ago and it was perfect for our young family. Has anyone headed down there without booking through your cruise ship? I remember there being a free shuttle, but I don't know if this is still possible and what the cost of entry is into Las Palmas. Does anyone know?

I was looking online and I saw that there is/was a pirate ship there. I do not remember seeing it 2 years ago. Is that still something you can do? I don't see that as an excursion on RCC, but my kids (ages 5, 7, 10) would love anything to do with a pirate ship.
