Chat on Carnival Hub (Vista)

When using the chat feature on the Hub app, can the person sending the message see that you have read it? Or do they only know when you reply?

He does not answer your question, sorry, he skips right over the chat feature

We used this on the Valor in the fall. It works, or is supposed to work, like texting on your phone. You send a message, they reply, and so on. For us it didn't work great as often texts sent wouldn't reach the other person.
