could someone give me a idea of how much a taxi for 8 people would be from the port to Sunscape Splash resort ? I'm trying to figure out if I want book it with transportation included or not. The price difference is $20 pp with transportation Thanks !

I'm not certain about the cost from the port to Sunscape however I have emailed a couple of taxi services about cost from the port to Rose Hall Great House (in Montego Bay), and a stop at Scotchies for lunch for 4...$110! Soy

I have been asking taxi services for quotes also and seriously am I the only one that thinks these people are insane? We are going from port to Hilton rose hall, 6 people. This is an 11-12 mile trip each way. I have been quoted the best price was $95 rt total and up to $210 rt total. Most were around 150-180. Taxi drivers in Jamaica must be rich, lol If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them ;)

Looks like I will probably book the all inclusive with transfers included just to be safe ! It will be paid up front when the excursion is booked so it will be one less thing to worry about :)

I ended up doing the opposite. We found a fairly reasonable taxi, saving us $17pp x 6 people to do it directly through the hotel. I'll be back in two weeks and if I remember, I'll let you know how it went ;)

The last time we were in Mobay in 2012, that's exactly what my husband and I did...found a cab outside of the Port, made a deal with him, and off we went! I might add that it was a fraction of the cost that we're being quoted now...the driver was very personable and gave us a lot of history and stories about the island. I had checked into hiring a private tour service because my daughter, son in law, and grandson will be with us this time....the son in law is 6' 8" tall and we were a bit concerned about his fitting comfortably in a taxi! With the prices I've been quoted, he may have to just suck it up! Lol! Hopefully, we can locate a larger taxi or van...
