svcalum07 Posted March 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2017 Hello! We are looking to book a 7 night Alaska sailing from Canada to Alaska and wondered which 2 nights of the cruise are the formal nights? Thanks!
Cruisin' Chick Posted March 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2017 it won't be on the first nor last night. But you'll find out when you first get to your cabin when you read the first day of Patter.
ckb104 Posted March 2, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2017 We are taking the 7 night round-trip Seattle and from what I've seen, ours will be on the sea day and the cruising the glacier day. It will likely be those for you, too.
RNGALNG Posted March 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2017 I just want to be snarky here and say Tuesday and Friday. However, each cruise starts on a different day and has a different itinerary. As Cruisin' Chick said, it won't be the first or the last. Sometimes, they will try to work it in depending on what time you hit the next port or if it is a sea day. It all just depends. towhee Posted March 2, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2017 They are usually on At Sea days and either glacier cruising days or Ketchikan (if you leave early in the afternoon).

The two times we've done Tracy Arm Fjord out of Seattle, formal nights were the northbound sea day and the southbound sea day (embarkation, formal, Ketchikan, TAF/Juneau, Skagway, formal, Victoria, then arrive in Seattle in the morning). It will likely be those for you, too. Sorry, but it's actually the sea day and Ketchikan day. I've been on that itinerary several times, and Glacier Bay day has never been formal. I suppose it's possible they changed it in the 2 years since I last did that itinerary, but it seems to be pretty consistent over the years.
