Digital Copy of Pics from Ship Photographers

Does anybody know if Carnival will sell you a digital copy of a picture that was taken by a ship photographer. My SIL wants to pose the kids for Christmas pics and then make cards out of them. I know people have suggested to just scan the picture, but I was wondering if I could get the original.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure why you would want to get an original digital photo and pay a lot of money for it (although I'm fairly sure the reason they use digital now is: no waste for film, plus easier to dispose of pictures that are not purchased from cruise-to-cruise) when you could just scan it.

We scanned in all of our portraits we bought, and they came out just fine. Great, actually. And it was free.

So I guess I don't have a concrete answer for you - just my guess that they don't keep them.

Do you mean they lied when they said that you cannot scan their pictures?

They had a display that showed a Carnival "watermark" that would show up if you scanned thier photos.

Are you telling me that it was just a scam to get you to buy more copies from them? <gasp> LOL;)

Yeah...imagine that!:)

In all seriousness, I scanned my pics and had them printed out at Costco and they looked great...no different than the originals, really. I really can't imagine the ships keeping all the pics, even though they're digital...I wouldn't want to be in charge of maintaining those files!!!
