Inside Handicapped Cabins

I have not had one on a Grand Class yet, but did have one on the Dawn Princess. It had a roll in shower and hand rails. It also had a hand held shower. The space was good for two people. I'm told that there are cabins on the Grand that will hold three in an HC.

I was told that by a Princess CSR that the Caribbean Princess only has Balcony Cabins that are handicapped that hold more than 2 people. So...if you only need a double, you're OK, if you're on the CP. If you need a triple or quad and want and inside, you're out of luck. I'm not sure if it's the same on the other Grand Class ships though.

Unfortunatally, the only Grand Class ships that will hold more then 2 in a handicap cabin inside or out is the Diamond and Sapphire I have 2 kids in wheelchairs so I have to book 2 handicap cabins. We will be back on the Star in February and have a balcony and inside cabin.

Here is a BIG BIG tip for folks needing handicapped, and going on Grand, Golden, or Star. Consider getting an inside "J" E716 or E717. Check them out in the aft of Emerald. They are HUGE.

Of course, they are double occupancy, so that might not help the first poster, but others should remember these special ones if you need an accessible cabin.

It's always funny to me how a question can morph into a discussion about something that was never asked. The original question never indicated a need for a cabin for more than two.

At any rate, Suzy is right. E716 and E717 are huge inside handicapped cabins (if I remember correctly, 315 sq. ft.). We stayed in E716 on the Golden in March 2002. It is a great cabin, with a large bathroom with roll in shower, large sitting area (ours had two chairs and two end tables and a coffee table but I understand some have had a couch rather than the two chairs), a wet bar and two TV's. All this comes at Cat. J pricing.

For those that need a handicapped cabin, this is a great room. We have booked this same cabin for our 10/24 sailing on the Golden.
