fozzyfoz Posted November 17, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 17, 2005 Included resutaurants: Aqua dining room Versailles dining room Endless Summer (tex-mex) Tratoria (italian) Blue Lagoon (24 hour diner) Buffet Extra fee: ($10-25 pp depending on restaurant, some ala carte also) Ginza/Sushi Bar/Teppanyaki (Asian) Cagney's (Steak) Soho (Pacific Rim fusion) Le Bistro (French/Mediterranian) We loved Ginza and ate there several times. The first 2 sea days were half price as long as your reservation was between 5:30 and 6:30 (but it's worth full price and even more as well). I recommend the 3 way pork. In Endless Summer, the fajitas were very good (chicken, beef or shrimp). Any questions, just ask
Leafpeeper Posted November 17, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 17, 2005 We are planning on booking the Star for February 2007. Last December we sailed the Norwegian Dawn, which is supposed to be a twin to the Star. Now I am wondering which restaurant on the Star is similar to Impressions (American) on the Dawn. I noticed the Star and Dawn both have Aqua, Blue Lagoon, Tex Mex, Italian, French, Asian, Steak House, and Tex Mex, but didn't see anything like Impressions serving American Food. Impressions has lovely dark wood panels throughout the restaurant. I think I saw a painting of a jockey and his horse above our table one night--very unusual. Maybe the Star does not have a restaurant similar to Impressions. Thanks for your info. Mary

The Dawn's Impressions is the Star's Soho Room (surcharge restaurant).

johnql Posted November 18, 2005 #7 Share Posted November 18, 2005 If you had to pick just one, I would probably recommend Le Bistro - excellent mushroom soup, filet mignon that you could cut with your fork, and delectable chocolate fondue for dessert. For meat and potatoes people, Cagney's serves excellent steaks. Teppanyaki puts on a fun food-preparation show and the entrees were very tasty.
