Any info on turtle farm and beach stop tour appreciated for cruise 12-18

A trip to the Turtle Farm then a stop at 7 mile beach is easy to do on your own by taxi or public bus.

Just so you know, the turtle farm is just that, a farm. Sure, they release some turtles in the ocean, but raising turtles for meat is a big part of their mission. I'm fine with that, but some people might not be, so it is better to know in advance. Not everyone enjoys going there after they find out about the meat part.

 

Stingray City is the signature tour on GCM. Most people on Cruise critic will recommend a private operator over the ship's excursion.

We did the stingray tour with Captain Marvin's, then they had a taxi driver meet us where the boat docked to save time. He took us to turtle farm and hell. We got everything in we wanted, it was great.
