Hi folks - my wife and i are flying into Miami next year and cruising out of Ft. Lauderdale. So i was thinking of just a hiring car and driving up to FLL - but i was wondering were i could drop the car of near the port and which hotel would be best for us for 1night.

Thanks for any help

If you pick up a car from Thrifty Car Rental you can actually drop it off just outside the Ft Lauderdale airport (600 Terminal Drive, Ft Lauderdale) and take a short cab ride to the port. Choose another car rental agency and you'll have to drop it off at Ft lauderdale airport. (Still only 10 minutes from Port Everglades) ;)

These hotels are less then 5 minutes from the port and the Thrifty Car Rental Office:

Thank you

I'm just thinking of the best way do to do all this.

Would it be any easier or cheaper to get a taxi or limo from Miami airport to a hotel in FLL ? rather than hiring a car and then having to leave it at FLL airport and catch a cab from there to the port.
