Should I change from Deck 13 to Deck 5 on Escape?

We currently have a stateroom booked on the Escape on Deck 13. It's an inside stateroom that sleeps 4. I've been reading that the ship feels more stable the lower you are. So now I'm wondering if I should change my stateroom to one down on Deck 5. Last I checked there were some available. I know Deck 5 is right under the atrium, so should I be worried about noise from deck 6 at night? I'm curious what others opinions are on which deck would be better. Thanks! :ship:

We had a aft balcony on port side on deck 12. No such issues on stability but we did not had rough sea. Sometimes we could feel some movement but we were close of the rear elevators and that spot was amazing. Near the Garden buffet, the pool deck and not far from the Dinning spots

Thanks! Our cabin is a mid-ship cabin that is not too far from the aft elevators. Hopefully, being mid-ship helps a bit with motion. I've never been on a cruise before, so not sure how my tummy will take it. ;)

 

I wish I could login to see exactly where my cabin is as I can't remember. Unfortunately, there is an issue with the site right now so I can't see my reservation on MyNCL.

We had a balcony on the 13th deck, we barely felt any motion.

I had a large OV on deck 5 forward and there was a perceptible difference from the higher decks. The Breakaway and Breakaway Plus ships do seem to move around a fair bit compared to other ships.

We were in a starboard mid ship balcony (13816) last year & booked nearly the same room for this May. We heard other people complaining it was rocky, but we never felt a thing. We also liked the easy walks up to the buffet/pool & down to the waterfront/casino.

If nothing else move to deck 10 mid-ship mini suite, 1st deck with cabins below and above, cabins almost dead center.

We had mid-ship balcony on 13. A little shake here and there. It was a perfect spot to be. I wouldn't change to deck 5.

Just by curiosity did someone notice some noise in the cheminee area ( just past the middle going to the aft ). Last week we walked front the front to our room using deck 12 alley and noticed this sound. We guessed that it was a kind of vibration coming from these cheminees. I hope that the cabins near this area don't suffer from this.

We are on Deck 5 under Savor and are wondering how noisy it may be as well as noise level. Any help is appreciated.

Are you prone to motion sickness? If you are or if you're worried about it, take along some chewable Bonine tablets. They're gentle and effective. If you think you will be bothered by motion sickness, take them before you leave port. Once you're at sea and feeling motion sickness, it's too late, although you can take them to calm the symptoms.

 

The motion of the ship is generally less apparent at midships and lower down in the ship. However, being in an inside cabin means you have no horizon to see out your window (what window? :)) which can help your brain sort out the conflicting motion signals you're getting from your ears.

 

It's pretty hard to predict how much motion there will be. It can change from day to day and hour to hour as it is a combination of weather conditions, sea conditions, and the direction and speed of the ship that causes it all. Most experienced cruise line captains choose the best route they can at any time to minimize the motion of the ship.

I seem to only get a little bit of motion sickness while reading in the car. Other than that I'm ok. I was wondering if being in an inside cabin would be an issue. Hopefully we will be able to upsell to a balcony now that I see that may be an option!
