Looking for ideas for something to do here. Will be there Aug 21 and none of the ship tours look interesting. If you've been there, what did you do?? Thanks!

There's not much in Gravdal (or Leknes), so most people opt to get out and see some of the famous Lofoten landscape. The scenic overlook at Reine and the colorful fishing villages like Nusfjord are popular.

 

We considered renting a car and driving down to Å i Lofoten, but after pricing it out, the time and money made a ship's tour of the same route seem like a better option. But other people have had better luck, so there are plenty of posts related to renting cars in Lofoten.

 

What kinds of things are you interested in? (FYI - For this area, you're probably going to be limited to history, scenery, and/or outdoor activities.)
