AkSusan Posted May 11, 2017 #26 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Alaskan king crab fishing is carried out during the fall months in the waters off the coast of Alaska and the Aleutian Islands. So anything you eat May, June, July, August, & probably September 2017 - will be frozen, since they can't catch it fresh until fall. (Maybe September, October, November...) Actually, king crab season is in the winter. The Seafood Industry here likes to consider Flash Frozen (frozen upon catch) fresh! Old As Dirt Mom Posted May 11, 2017 #27 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Halibut season was mid March here. Know as I follow it, so, I can hit my favorite restaurant for fresh halibut. With that, the seafood industry, views Flash Frozen as fresh here! Susan in Anchorage :) Flash frozen works for me:D
AkSusan Posted May 11, 2017 #28 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Flash frozen works for me Sometimes me too, as, fresh prices can be :eek: Though, flash frozen on some things (especially King Crab Legs) are :eek::eek: too!:) Heck, back in the mids 60s, you could get $5 for unlimited King Crab feeds out on Base. Of course, I was very young, and, was more interested in the hamburger I could get. If I only knew! Susan in Anchorage
