Just off Conquest - great customer service!

We're just off the Conquest Saturday morning.

 

Our first night we weren't feeling well from food poisoning the day before, so we went to bed early. At 9PM, we woke to someone singing in the hallway outside our cabin. She had a beautiful voice. I asked DH & he said, "It's the piano bar." Apparently our cabin was directly above the piano bar. Since this was our 17th CCL cruise, I had no one to blame but myself. I always check for location but this was a last minute booking and I neglected to check. It felt like our bed was in the piano bar! We stuffed our ears with kleenex & hoped for the best. It was awful.

 

The next day we bought ear plugs. During the Captain's party in the lobby, DH went to the pursers desk and said that he didn't think they knew just how loud the piano bar was and that we bought ear plugs and put on the cabin TV with the soft music (I could still make out the songs!)- we didn't think they could do anything about it, but we wanted them to know. Very pleasant conversation.

 

The next morning as we headed to breakfast, we had a letter in our mailbox stating they had found us a cabin if we wanted to change. What??!! We called - it was a balcony one deck up and a few steps away from our cabin. Obviously, we said yes, they helped us move and 1/2 hour later we were in a new cabin with a credit for our trouble! Never expected that at all! Wonderful nights sleep from then on.

 

Otherwise, a normal cruise. Food and staff were great, loved the Seafood Shack, Alchemy and relaxing on deck. No love in the casino at all.

 

We have noticed as we get older that we eat and drink less on each cruise. This cruise was even more so - we both lost weight on this cruise. Not because of the food, but because we just eat less - the food was great and we were disappointed we couldn't eat more. Same with drinking. We had Cheers and it broke even every day, but it was the least we drank on any cruise.

 

We love CCL and will cruise them again. It was a nice, relaxing cruise with some nice people we met.

Great to hear good news with all the complaints that are usually reported. Glad you were up graded and enjoyed your voyage. We were on the Conquest about 5 years ago and have another sailing booked for April 2018.
