Elite discount not combinable with 20% pre cruise Internet package discount

I phoned the Captain's Club in the UK to be told that the current pre cruise internet package discount of 20% is not combinable with the Elite discount. I'm sure I read on Cruisecritic that the combined discount can't be given when booking online, but can if you book the package by phone. Am I dreaming?

Yes, you have to call to get the captain's club discounts pre cruise. The website doesn't do it. I called US Captains club and was told the special 20% discount going on now could not be combined with the elite discount. You can get the normal 10% pre cruise internet discount combined with the captain's club discount.
