lisap612 Posted November 27, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2005 Hi, Looking for a place for 4 of us to share 1 room for 1 night before a cruise the end of January. We're arriving at 11:40pm and sailing out the next day so looking more for convenience than fancy. If not here, can you recommend a place that has shuttles (free?) from airport to hotel and hotel to port? thanks.
Bequia Posted November 28, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2005 Avoid the DI, its a dump. ;) Here's a few decent Miami airport properties: Hilton... http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/hotels/i...tyhocn=MIAAHHH Hampton Inn... http://www.hamptoninnmiamiairport.com/ Homewood Suites... http://homewoodsuites.hilton.com/en/...tyhocn=MIABLHW Summerfield Suites... http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/MIASS/main.wnt
LUCY55 Posted November 28, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2005 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=5231394&postcount=9 Why I chose Hampton Inn at Dadeland Mall. You can read reviews at main travel sites such a tripadvisor. Rate was about $115 for two. Probably not the cheapest but included airport and port transportation and breakfast. sportsterjohn Posted November 28, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2005 try baymount suites, it has a free shuttle to the port. You must take a taxi back though. Also has free parking. I stayed there a few weeks ago and it is fine for a precruise hotel.
traveling queen Posted November 28, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 28, 2005 Sportster, What was the address of the Baymont that you stayed at. We are also booked at the Baymont since they did offer the shuttle service from the airport. We are staying at the one on Lejune Rd. I know that others said it was not very nice. Just wondering if you stayed at that one. When I called on the phone everyone seemed very pleasant and answered all my questions. Thanks in advance. TrentS Posted November 28, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 28, 2005 I prefer the "Blue Lagoon" area on the south side of MIA. They're much nicer hotels in a much much better/safer area. sportsterjohn Posted November 29, 2005 #7 Share Posted November 29, 2005 I stayed at the one of Lejune rd. It is not a 4 star hotel but it is very clean, freshly remodeled and perfect for a 1 night stay. I would rate it a 2.5 stars. Also, it has the free shuttle / parking for cruisers. traveling queen Posted November 30, 2005 #8 Share Posted November 30, 2005 Sportster, Thanks for the reply. I feel much better now. We thought for 1 night it would be perfect. We are thinking of just taking a cab to the pier on Sunday morning. Thanks again.
