JohanneandRéjean Posted November 28, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2005 Anyone know if you can still smoke cigars in Michael's Club on the Mercury.
tbelian Posted November 28, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2005 Yes. Absolutely. Got off Mercury on 11/11/2005 and Michael's is still a Cigar Lounge. Note, it is not open 'all the time' only in the evenings (after 5pm I think, maybe as late as 7pm don't recall specifically). HTH.
cruisin'cats Posted November 29, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 29, 2005 I am booked on the Mercury and have a cabin aft of the club on the Panarama deck. Will I smell smoke in the halls b/c of the smoking club?
JohanneandRéjean Posted November 29, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted November 29, 2005 On the ships that we have been on the smoke is controlled very well. It's usually the balcony rooms that experience smoke from some of your neighbours. The port side is the smoking side.
cruisin'cats Posted November 30, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2005 We sailed on the Summit last November and we had to pass through several smoking lounges from one end of the ship to the other, usually at least one smoking area to get to our dining room, and it was tough. It's not that I'm against smokers, it was just that I am FOR breathing and it was hard passing through those spaces--which were quite open. Several non-smoking passengers complained to Celebrity about this in the end of cruise evaluation but, you know that won't change much when it's the design of the ship to be open and accessible. As far as what one smells when one is out on one's balcony--hmmm...more than once, I've smelled a scent just blowin' in the wind that reminded me of my college days in the mid 70's.
