Lady of the Lakes Posted November 30, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2005 Hi all! Time is short now. I do have a couple questions tho. We are leaving on Dec 10th and I was wondering at what time should we be to the pier to start borading?? and how far is the pier parking from the actual ship? Thanks Ellie

tef43 Posted November 30, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2005 Boarding is a two-minute penalty.

flynrph Posted November 30, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 30, 2005 What difference does it make? Aren't all ports the same? I mean, read these posts. Everybody either gets on and off in 10 minutes, or have a 6 hour endurance marathon. Sometimes it's in between, but not often according to the posts. Try noon, sounds like a safe bet.

Get there early say 11 or late around 2 - 2:30 generally. Each port has it's little quirks. The OP also asked about parking and that is way different everywhere. cruzeluver Posted November 30, 2005 #9 Share Posted November 30, 2005 I am a big fan of arriving about 30-45 minutes prior to the "official" start of boarding. Lines are usually shorter and I like as much time as possible onboard before departure. Also, I've noticed ships tend to start boarding earlier than the "ofiicial" start time. caprcorn28 Posted November 30, 2005 #10 Share Posted November 30, 2005 I am going to guess that it's either the Inspiration, the Triumph, the Spirit or the Liberty in either Tampa, Miami, San Diego, or Ft Lauderdale....
Lady of the Lakes Posted December 1, 2005 Author #11 Share Posted December 1, 2005 Okay all so I am a bit excited and forgot to mention just a couple of things.:D Trimuph -Miami Dec 10th. Also if you "board" correctly no foul.
Cotton Posted December 1, 2005 #12 Share Posted December 1, 2005 If your docs state 'boarding begins at 1pm', you'll be ok to be there by 11ish. I usually get to the pier about 1.5-2 hrs. before the stated time, and am on the ship having lunch by 12:30. Enjoy your cruise!:)
matt32703 Posted December 1, 2005 #13 Share Posted December 1, 2005 I've only been out of Miami once ... but I seem to remember arriving about 11:30. Dropped our bags, parked, checked in, and were on the ship by 12:45.

I will use it. Lighten up folks, it's all about vacation, having fun, exciting expectations! flynrph Posted December 2, 2005 #15 Share Posted December 2, 2005 5 minute game misconduct, inappropiate boarding (hehehe, if ya catch my drift, (thanks AVC)). I'm in the box! Elysse Posted December 4, 2005 #16 Share Posted December 4, 2005 Seems like there's some sort of parade scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday, 12/4/05) in Fort Lauderdale that's actually closing down part of I-595, but it looks like our hotel (and the port) are both east of the parade route, so we shouldn't have any trouble... We're planning to leave our hotel in a shuttle at 10am or 10:30am. (P.S. We tried calling for a cab in Fort Lauderdale for fifteen minutes today--dinnertime on Saturday--and only got busy signals, so don't depend on timely cabs if you're staying over Saturday night!)
