VTSteerage Posted July 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2017 My wife and I will be on the POA for the Dec. 2 sailing. :D When we arrive back in Honolulu on Dec. 9, we have a late flight (9:30 PM), so we are looking into tours that go to Pearl Harbor and keep the luggage for the day. We have looked at the tours offered by the cruise line and the one from Roberts. Anyone take these and have some comments? Are there better alternatives, keeping in mind that Pearl Harbor is a must for us that day, and we would rather not drive? We will have already seen much of Oahu during our pre-cruise stay. As always, thanks in advance to the many knowledgeable folks on this forum!!
beeandkmon Posted July 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2017 So we had planned to do the Pearl Harbor tour from the ship before our flight. However, our trip was in 2013 when the government shut down occurred so Pearl Harbor was closed. We ended up switching to the North Shore Tour just as something to do on this day. While we absolutely hated this tour (really our fault- we are not bus tour kind of people- we should have known) we did really love the convenience of it. Doing a ship excursion the last day is so easy. Your bags are put under the bus, you get to do the trip, and then are dropped off at the airport. You don't have to worry about logistics of baggage and rides on your last day. It makes for a really relaxing last day. Could you do it cheaper and maybe get in some other sites? Probably, but on your last day you may just not feel like packing in everything you can possibly do. A less stress day may be welcomed at this point.
