rickcop44 Posted December 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2005 We will be on Victory the week of January 22 - eastern Caribbean. My DW wants to find a three stone blue diamond ring - one of those past, present and future rings - and we would like any suggestions on where we might find one. We've tried Diamonds International and Columbian Emeralds in the past (the last 2 years) with no luck. Does anyone know of a store, or stores, either in St. Thomas, St. Maarten, or in San Juan, that you'd recommend as a likely place to look for blue diamonds? Thanks again for all your sage wisdom and advice!
Boston6 Posted December 2, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2005 Go see Tinku @ Dynasty Jewelers in St. Maarten. They had some fantastic blue diamond jewelry. Not as fancy as some of the other stores but the prices are better and on the one occasion when I did have a problem with one of their bracelets, they took care of me without any hassles. derf5585 Posted December 2, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2005 Blue diamonds from http://webexhibits.org/causesofcolor/11.html Diamonds occur in a variety of transparent hues from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond Will Derfette say "Just what I always wanted a blue diamond" and get lucky that night? TXParrothead Posted December 2, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2005 You also might want to try jewelrytelevision.com. I have bought many things from them and they have great prices.
jcs56 Posted December 2, 2005 #5 Share Posted December 2, 2005 I just bought a blue diamond last week in Ocho Rios. Now this may not be true....but he told us that it's the only place in the carribean that has them.....I bought a ring with a blue diamond solitare in the center (just over a karat) and clear diamonds surrounding it (just over a karat)....it's beautiful. Bought it at Gem Palace (the guys name was Richie). My daughter also bought one...hers looks like 3 blue flowers....like a three stone ring. Beautiful jewelry there. Barkingowl Posted December 21, 2005 #6 Share Posted December 21, 2005 When you look at a store's colored diamonds make sure to ask if the color is natural. Also ask to see a certificate from a reputable gemological laboratory stating the origin of the color.
