If you shop a lot on Amazon, remember to always start your shopping trip at smile.amazon.com and select the charity of your choice. Amazon will donate a percentage of your purchase to that charity (comes out of Amazon's pocket, not yours, so this is something you can do in addition to other charity donations).

 

I don't have specific advice on charities, and I don't want to spawn a "which charity is more worthy" argument, but I expect in the coming weeks we will begin to see charity organizations for individual islands pop up.

 

Just an example, the Houston Food Bank is eligible for Amazon Smile.

I'd be curious if anyone knows yet of a trustworthy charity for Puerto Rico. I guess the challenge here is getting the funds to an agency that actually knows how (or even can) put those funds to good use yet.
