Viking Pre-Cruise Extension in Paris - is Club Access With the Extra Charge?

My husband and I will be doing the pre-cruise extension in Paris in November, staying at the Le Meridian Hotel. I have rewards status with SPG, so I inquired whether or not we could upgrade to Club access. I was informed that I could, but there would be an extra 60 euro charge per night (with is around $70.00 per night). Receiving this upgrade would mean a room on the 8th or 9th floor, continental breakfast, snacks, wine and cheese in the evening, etc.

 

Breakfast is included in the pre-cruise extension. So, my question is - has anyone done the upgrade and was it worth the extra charge?
