Best hotel selection ON THE BEACH

Hi. We are looking for a hotel that has a great beach in San Juan for a pre-cruise weekend. I have read the other threads and saw many recommendations for El Covento. We really want a beach hotel. Any recommendations would be great.

 

Also, about you all that try the Priceline thing. If I enter "resort" how do I know I will get the Marriott? How do we know what hotels are in that category? Is there any way to guarantee beachfront?

The El Convento is not on a beach. For that, the BEST is the Ritz Carlton in Isla Verde near the airport. I stay at this hotel about once a month on business and the property and beach is fantastic. So is the resort pool. Can't go wrong here at all.
