Not joining onland excursions

Everyone knows theyre over-priced and everyone advised me not to join them...Im going on the 14-night Northern Europe Cruise with the Constellation, thats our itinerary:

Seems like the ports are never walking distance to anything...in that case, if we dont join the excursions, we'll juz be trapped round the ports? Anyones been to any of those places, any tips?

The only place on your trip we've been to recently is Copenhagen. If your ship docks the same place, there is a local bus into town. Then we took the water tour of the area and walked through Tivoli Gardens (which isn't the way I remembered it - now mostly a ride park). Can you find out if your ship will have a shuttle available from the pier into the various towns? They often do. Nancy
