Charlami Posted December 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2017 (edited) While we were on the Valor out of Galveston Dec.2, my boyfriend entered on a whim and won second place in the slot tournament. They gave him a seat in the finals on Magic, May 12, 2018. I'm looking through all this paperwork that they gave us whi h is rules for the tournament and one little brochure about confirming the seat or transferring. I am just trying to figure out is this a free Cruise? We really could care less about the slot tournament. I mean he's lucky and we have a free seat so we're going to play anyways as long as the cruise is really free. We dont mind port fees and gratuity. Can anyone help me out here? DallasGuy75219 Posted December 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2017 Unless this was a Premier or Ultra or other special casino cruise, he just won a seat in the tournament, not a free cruise for that sailing. There is supposedly a discounted fare for those cruises for people who've won a free seat when you book through the Carnival casino 1-800 number they give you in the paperwork, but I've never bothered actually trying to book one to find out how good of a deal it is. winddawn Posted December 17, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2017 In my experience, this is not a free cruise. It is only a seat in a tournament. I've won several of these seats over the years and have never used one of them because I prefer to pick my own ship and sail date.

avonladyb Posted March 18, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 18, 2018 The cruise is not free: you get about a 20% discount off the Fun Saver rate, which about equals whatever the cheapest choose your own room rate is. We are going to the May 12 sailing of Magic out of Port Canaveral. We moved our dd to Orlando over Christmas (from Oklahoma), so we are using it as an excuse to go early and spend time with her, lol. (The money we are saving on Disney this trip would pay for most of another cruise, lol: way to go Disney girl for getting hired on your first audition! Free entry to the parks and huge discount on hotels). Congrats to your boyfriend on the win.
