Millennium CC9043, CC9045

Does anyone know if these are good cabin selections for a Mediterranean cruise with 2 teenagers? We were thinking the parents would reside in CC9043 and we woukd lock the teens in the other cabin. Do these cabins get sun. There has been much discussion on the board about some cabins not getting sun. I know my kids will want to be in the sun. Thank you for your knowledge. We are virgin cruisers!

Hi Ardis,

9043 has an angled balcony; slightly larger but with less privacy than a standard balcony. All of the "indented" balconies from 9045 to 9171 are under the overhang and get very little sun. I disliked these cabins; hard to see the sun, sky, stars, etc.

A corresponding cabin on a lower deck would be a better choice for sun.

9038 is "our" cabin - it is at the curve of the ship so the balcony is larger and is more square. All cabins on this deck have the "overhang" but depending on time of day and the ship's direction you will have moments of sun and moments of shade wherever you are. The cabins you mention are standard issue for that deck. Some people hate the overhang - some people are not bothered. I'm one of the not bothered.

Neither balcony will be getting any sun. But, that is the reason we like it. I like to be able to sit out in the shade. Being from Florida, I get all the sun I want. If I want sun on the ship, I can go up a few decks. So we are 2 of the folks that love the overhang.

I also like 9038 because of the large balcony. Make sure you ask for a lounger to be brought out. So comfy.

Enjoy,

Duane

Hello Wolfgang. My wife and I are pleased that you like this cabin. I booked it in November of 2005 because it was highly recommended. Anyway thanks for the good information. I am looking forward to being in this excellent Cabin :) Thanks
