cruisesoon Posted January 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2018 We will be going on our first Seabourn cruise next year. I was wondering if the ship has any mah jongg sets aboard their ships? Oceania has sets you can use. I love to play during the sea days.
Mr Luxury Posted January 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2018 I think Ma Jong works in the laundry There is always Backgammon available Sent from my SM-G955F using Forums mobile app
Flamin_June Posted January 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2018 There were certainly regular mah jongg sessions in the games/cards room on our last cruise. Whether there are any sets, or if folks brought there own travelling ones, I'm not sure. DW is a bit of a mah jongg fan and went along, but the games were American rules, whereas she learnt to play in the Far East, which has somewhat different conventions (I think......; mah jongg is another thing I personally don't know much about, like collecting coins, however I'm in a reckless mood and prepared to throw around unfounded opinions at a moment's notice). Love the phraseology. May I borrow it? Promise I will give it back.:)
Flamin_June Posted January 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2018 You are welcome. I've borrowed it myself - not the words and sentiment, but certainly the rhetorical style and concept - from Raymond Chandler, one of my favourite writers. If you have not read him, but like that sort of thing, I recommend you have a dip.
