Casino Cash

Is it still possible to get cash at the casino cashier against your onboard account? I know it could be done several years ago, albeit with a 3% charge tacked on. I play craps, blackjack and maybe a little roulette. No slots.

I like to set a gambling budget for the week. I would prefer to take out my budgeted amount at the start of the cruise, rather than charge $100 at the craps table on day 1, then $50 at a blackjack table and another $50 at the craps table on day 2, etc. Just a lot easier doing it in one transaction than multiple smaller ones. If I have chips left at the end of a night, I take them back to the room and use them the next night. Then, if I have any chips left at the end of the cruise, I'll cash them in.

I'm not aware of being able to get it at the cashier unless you make arrangements beforehand.

You can get your gambling money at the slot machines and tables as you've already described.

And there is no fee.

You might want to consider 'gifting' yourself casino cash. Then you can take it out at the cage. But that won't be charged to your onboard account.

Not sure how big your budget is. I've only gotten chips against my onboard account when I had alot of OBC from a move over offer. Getting $200 was no problem. If you wanted $1,000 all at once, that might be a problem without OBC. You'd probably need to talk to the casino manager and see what's possible.

As noted above, there is no longer a charge for gambling with money from your onboard account.

I get gift cards from my grocery store when they have 4 x the gas points throughout the time I have booked. If I win I cash out and tuck some away. If I lose I take $ off my sign and sail card (which eventually you pay for at the end). I take my gift cards the day before we leave and pay off my bill!
