I had thought that discount benefits from being a member of an association, such as AARP, a college alumni association, or AAA, was different, but maybe you are right.

At the risk of annoying our moderators, I'd point out that the AARP Passport web site is a full service travel booking operation, not just a discount program to be used with other agencies as one might their AARP or AAA membership alone!
