Whale Watching - Maine and Canada

We are cruising Adventure of the Seas with stops in Portland, Bar Harbor, Saint John and Halifax. Is whale watching available at any of these ports? The cruise line does not offer any (maybe that should be a clue lol). If so what company did you use?

Thanks

I went whale watching in Bar Harbor when I sailed aboard Grandeur in July. At least in Bar Harbor, whale watching is seasonal because of migration patterns. Tours did not begin until very late June or early July. I would imagine it is the same in the other ports. When are you sailing?

We've done a land vacation twice so far in Bar Harbor, and each time we went on a whale watch tour with Bar Harbor Whale Watch Company (http://www.barharborwhales.com/). I have nothing but good things to say about them. Highly recommended! Within walking distance of the port!

If you do not decide on a whale watch tour in Bar Harbor, I would recommend as an alternative hopping on the Island Explorer bus at the Village Green to explore Acadia National Park on your own. Hiking trails, overlooks, beaches, etc... very beautiful place. http://www.exploreacadia.com/

Edit: I forgot about kayaking as well! Also within walking distance of the port. We've used http://acadiakayak.com/ twice and loved it! Sorry, I know you did not ask about kayaking and hiking, but I just love Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park and get really excited talking about it. :)

Thanks. I looked at their website and they don't have anything scheduled for the day we are there. I called them and I'm waiting to hear back to see if they may put something on the schedule.

If that doesn't work your other suggestions sound fun!! Thanks
