Caribbean Aft Cabin B757 Question

My husband and I have cruised many times, but have never been lucky enough to book an aft cabin. I noticed last week that B757 was open on a cruise coming up in June that would work for us. I wondered why it was still available, and I called Princess directly and asked if there was anything wrong with the cabin. I had noticed the weird blank space between this cabin and another on the deck plan and asked about it as well. I was told there was absolutely nothing wrong with this cabin, and that the blank space was just a walled enclosure. The rep. made it sound like someone must have cancelled, allowing the cabin to be released, and I just got lucky. Based on that conversation, I booked this cabin so excited to finally get to cruise in an aft cabin. I even planned on keeping it as a surprise and not tell my husband.

Now, I’m reading that there are issues with smells and vent noise. Evidently the “walled enclosure” is really an air conditioner. The posts I’m reading are several years old.

Has anyone stayed in this cabin recently? What did you think? I think we can handle some noise, but I’m really not going to be able to handle any strong odors. Since the ship was renovated recently, I'm hoping maybe Princess might have tried to fix the smell issue.

Thank you :)
