JC in CA Posted April 6, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2018 Thought I'd mention the nearly free walking tours in Skagway. I read about them here somewhere and checked into them. There is a 75 cents per reservation fee, other than that, free. Has anyone taken one of these? We booked the "Untold Stories, topics vary" because it fits with the rest of our day. A few different tours and times to choose from. https://www.recreation.gov/tourSearchResult.do?contractCode=NRSO&parkId=70711
Sacto Rick Posted April 6, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2018 Yes, we took one last time in Skagway and enjoyed very much. The Park Service does a great job.

Sacto Rick Posted April 7, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 7, 2018 So good to hear! We are looking forward to it! They also have a good display of photo's and artifacts of the Klondike gold rush in the downtown building. They have a small theater where they show a movie on the history of the gold rush and the building of the White Pass RR. We saw the free movie there first before we boarded the train for our excursion. Though there was a narrator on the train, the free movie from the Park Service had us informed about what we were seeing. We had the afternoon WPRR excursion. The Park Service in Skagway = FREE. You don't see that too often in Alaska.;)
WisCruiser2 Posted April 7, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 7, 2018 Thanks for the link! We were planning on doing our own walking tour using the map from the Skagway site, but this looks like a nice option.
