swimmer722 Posted December 29, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2005 We will be in cozumel on Friday, Jan 20. There will be 6-8 of us and we are looking for a van with a driver that would take us around for the day. Does anyone have the name or contact information for someone who might provide this service? We would like to see the island and stop off at a nice beach; probably a 5-6 hour time frame. What could we expect to pay for this service? Thanks for any help you can provide. hdawson Posted December 31, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2005 Why not rent a van and seen the beautiful shoreline stopping at some beach clubs. I use Executive Rental. There's only one road around the island so you can't get lost and the road is good.

If they rent a vehicle, they would need a designated driver. In addition to the links already provided, you could get a recommendation for a private guide from one of the locals on the discussion board at cozumelmycozumel (dot) com. I think you could get a taxi and driver for 4-5 hours for about $50, maybe less, depending on the number of taxis waiting for a fare. Just be sure to reach an agreement before you get in the vehicle. At the head of the taxi line, there is a supervisor that can help you get a taxi. As it stands now, most divers would really appreciate working as a guide because there lots of taxis and fewer people needing a ride. One long fare would be better than one or two shore fares.
