Condado vs. Isla Verde

We will be spending a couple days in San Juan prior to our cruise in June, and we are considering staying at an Airbnb rather than in a hotel. We’ve found great locations in both Condado and Isla Verde and we are trying to decide between the two areas. We would like a nice beach, but we would also like to go to old San Juan and spend some time. Would you recommend one over the other, and why? Thanks for your help!

We stayed in Condado 3 days prior in 2016, enjoyed it and really liked the area. Great beach and plenty of restaurants within walking distance to our hotel. Felt completely safe in the area. Took a cab to old San Juan, I think it was about $20.

Isla Verde is closer to the airport and has more hotels & restaurants to walk to but is MUCH busier than Condado. Condado is really nice and has more of a laid back feel rather than the hustle and bustle. Both places area very safe. Either way you'll have to get a cab in order to get to OSJ.
