paminohio Posted December 31, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2005 On Carnival's website, it says they are available for rental and they fit four people...I'm wondering how big they are and how much they are to rent. Thanks,
highseascruiser Posted January 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2006 Check out the cruise line website for cost. As it is a private island they are rented from them direct. They can accomodate more than 4, but an extra payment is required for additional people. They are equipped with snorkel gear for 4 and float boards, loungers and misters, fridge and fan. paminohio Posted January 3, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted January 3, 2006 Anyone have a picture of one? Carnival's website did not have a photo. Thanks! Pam
jimbug Posted January 4, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 4, 2006 Hop on over to the Holland America board...Half Moon Cay, up until now, has been a HAL-only island, but now Carnival is frequenting it. Through HAL, they are $219 for up to 4 people, and $45/pp for any beyond 4. They include what highseascruiser mentioned in an above post, plus a few other nice little extras. Priority tendering, a cabana attendant (waiter) to assist you during the day, a free snack and soda/water set-up. Others have reported their cabana attendants actually bringing the beach BBQ back to your cabana for you...others have said they didn't, so I suppose it's up to the individual attendant. We've got the taupe one reserved for March 11th sailing of the Zuiderdam...and can't wait to use it. Go to Webshots.com and search for 'Half Moon Cay Cabana' and you will see Ziggy's albums full of cabana photos and info. She even has a labeled map of the location of each color cabana on the island. Bunkie103 Posted January 4, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 4, 2006 Maybe I'm thick, but what is the benefit of such a cabana? Doesn't look like it has a restroom or shower....anyone clue me in?
jimbug Posted January 4, 2006 #6 Share Posted January 4, 2006 It's just a shaded hut-like place to hang out for the day. It does have an outdoor shower, and loungers, sink, refrigerator, etc. Sort of an unncessary (but fun) luxury while on the beach for the day...
