c-legs Posted December 31, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2005  Good evening, For all of us sailing on that lovely cruise, the sailaway port has been changed to Miami. Now, this is NOT a disaster, a catastrophe and no, Celebrity does not have to offer millions of $$$ in free cruises and other compensation.... They're simply using a whole lot of common sense in sailing away the ship very close to her drydock location....So long as they communicate the change to their guests in a proper manner, the world will still be a better place for the 2100 odd pax on board . Four of us are air-ticketed already, 1st apr, to FFL...and booked at a BestWestern on 17th. So: a 10 minutes complimentary shuttle to PortEverglades will become a 45-ish minutes drive on I-95 , in a taxi-van, and we'll still show up at the Port of Miami around 11.00-ish. Guests already air-ticketed to FLL on the day of sailing have 3 months to get used to the reality that their FLL-ship transfer will last about 35 minutes longer. Come to think of it: dealing with 6 ships and 1700+/-pax in Miami sounds a lot easier than 9 ships and 22500+/-pax in FLL...right ?? RCL already has Explorer and Radiance in port that day...Isn't the RCI facilitiy a '' two ship '' set-up there ?? I wonder where they'll fit Infinity... Happy sailings, all Cheers CG :D
