momof4boys Posted January 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2006 Hope someone answers soon. We would love to do both, too. We had the canopy booked in Belize last July, but Hurricane Emily changed our port to the Bahamas. So....of course we booked again, this time the Conquest. :)
melika091900 Posted January 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2006 nice place to see.. but for 100 per person, not really worth it,,,,( through carnival) ive heard this from many people,,, not enough time to enjoy it since you will be holding hands with strangers walking up it,,,, and hanging on.... JoeCanadian Posted January 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2006 We took the Cool Runnings trip off the NCL Jewel and loved it! Climbing the falls was great and we actually met more people from our ship by climbing holding hands, and helping each other up. The second half of our excursion involved a catamaran ride out into the sea with rum punch, rum, and Red Stripe beer. The 5-6 foot ocean swells made for a great adventure. FYI: Rum punch is included in the tour cost, and Red Stripe of $2 per bottle. I would reccommend this excursion to anyone!
TheWog Posted January 3, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 3, 2006 You will have a great time if you go. You enter the main entrance and proceed down to rent your lockers if you need one. Be sure to wear water shoes. You get a guide and follow him down to the bottom. Get in the water and begin to climb up. Yes it is recommended to hold hands, but sometimes it can't be done the whole time. You get to be in the water. You go under a bridge, you come up to a pool area and there they let you slide under the water. There are also photo ops. The guides will take your picture as well as having them available for purchase at the end. They will also videotape you climbing and are willing to sell it to you for a fee. Be sure where you step. Feel it out before stepping. Some people report getting hurt, but if you take care you will be fine. There are areas to leave the water and climb using stairs on land if you wish. The climb is fun and also exercise, but you will be able to say you have done it. You can have pictures taken of you along the way, be sure to use a water camera and not a good expensive non-waterproof one. There is a merchant area when you leave that people have different experiences with. Some good, some bad. You will need to decide what yours was. I am not sure exactly what type of info you are looking for, but ask away. Have fun!!!!
