StrikeEagle7 Posted May 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2018 trying to decide if we should do the Princess Cay StingRay snorkel or wait and do the Princess StingRay (at StingRay City), Snorkel, Swim and Scenic Country Drive. Anyone have any experience/recommendation? I see there is also snorkeling that you might see Stingrays on St. Thomas. Any information is welcome. umbluemusic Posted May 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2018 I didn’t do it at Princess Cay, but I snorkeled on my own off of Sapphire Beach in St Thomas and saw several sting rays. It was a highlight of my vacation and it was made even better by the fact I didn’t pay a bunch to do it! WAMarathoner Posted May 27, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2018 The Princess Cay stingray expedition is excellent for children, first-timers, folks with mobility issues, or those a little timid. It's in maybe a 50-yard circular area set apart. It isn't deep (children can stand up the whole time). The lady running it while we were there (black, larger build, 40s) was excellent at making certain folks were enjoying themselves. The rays are just the smaller ones (males, I think) and are surprisingly sociable. It also means you're first off on the tenders. If you don't do a Princess excursion, the wait can be long. It's bad trying to get back, too. They really need to have dedicated tenders at the site.
Dogslider Posted May 28, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2018 Our grandsons will be 17 and 14 when we go in July. Is this something you think they would enjoy? Are you allowed to take your own pictures? Thanks for any info.
