Century Western 13 day Europe

Hi all, We are starting to plan a cruise on 9/2/06 13 day Europe. We had a deposit on the Summit Hawaii for 3/17/07, that trip would mean 8 days at sea and only 5 days in ports, at an est cost of over $6000 (veranda) leaves from LA ,no airfare for us we live in LA. We didnt even look at the Europe trip thought they would be way out of our price range, we are not rich people LOL. To our suprise the cost with air is almost the same. Is getting airfair with Celebrity the way to go? We also want to do the pre and post package arrive one day early leave a day ladder. Wondering what those packages run. I know my TA will be able to answer all of my questions, but its New Years and I can't wait. Has anyone taken this cruise before? Thanks Patty:)
