There are 8 of us (w/4 teens and 2 kids) cruising out of Miami. We are booked at the Marriott Courtyard Dania Beach near FLL--just wondering if anyone has stayed there? New? Clean? Restaurant food--good/expensive? Is there a breakfast buffet? Any other restaurants nearby? Can we walk to them?

Great Choice! The hotel is relatively new. Minutes from the airport and close to Port Everglades. Right next door is the Fishing Hall of Fame http://www.igfa.org/mgi.asp and Bass Pro Shop http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.CFPage?appID=94&storeID=16

You can easily walk to the Dania Beach Islamorada Fish Company it opened in April 1999 and seats nearly 400 guests inside or outside on the dock. Near Ft. Lauderdale, it is located off I-95 and Griffin Road between BassPro Shops' Outdoor World and the International Game Fishing Museum and Hall of Fame.

Stayed there before our Ziederdam cruise, nice hotel but near train tracks so you will get quite a bit of train noise during the night. There have a breakfast buffet at the hotel, the continental buffet was 6 or 7 bucks, a full buffet was about double that.

The only other Restaurant within walking distance is a Subway shop that is in the Fishing Hall of Fame building.

You must have missed the Islamorada Fish Company restaurant, it was inside that huge store called Bass Pro Shop next to the Fishing Hall of Fame.;) http://www.ifcstonecrab.com/nitem.cfm?cat=2
