Is the buffet open for dinner???

I was talking to a friend whose friend cruises only on Disney. He told her that the buffet isn’t opened for dinner. We find that hard to believe because there are people who prefer buffet dining to the main dining room.

Does anyone know if the buffets are open or is my friends friend correct on this matter??

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Cabanas, which is the main buffet for breakfast and lunch, is open for dinner all but the first and last nights of a cruise, However, it is table service for dinner, serving selections from the main dining room menus. There is often a late night buffet on pirate night, but that is the only one. The poolside quick service locations are also open for dinner if you do not want to eat in the main dining room and do not have a reservation for one of the adult-only specialty restaurants (Palo and Remy).

Correct--at dinner, Cabanas is a cruise casual, no reservation needed table service restaurant. You are welcome to look at the menu before choosing to be seated. It will feature selections from the MDR menu(s) of the same night, along with a salad bar and a carved item. You can walk up to the podium any time during the open hours. It is closed on the first and last night of a cruise, regardless of whether the cruise is 3 nights or 15 nights.

The fast food outlets are open, as is room service and the adult only dining rooms (by reservation, upcharge fee).

We LOVED Cabanas. It was calm, quiet, had great service and great food. We ate there the first time after a long excursion...we had late dinner and didn't want to wait till 8:15 to eat. And if you are there at the right time, there is a great view of the sunset.
