Excursion La Spezia (Florence/Pisa), Italy

Not sure if I should post this on the Italy board but thought I'd try here first. Going to be on Symphony and I'm nervous about not taking a ship excursion. Wanted to see if anyone has done the Jewels of Cinque Terre tour and how it was. Looking for something that is more explore on your own than follow a guide.

 

Also looking at the Portofino, Rapallo and Santa Margherita tour. Thanks for any input.

We’ve done RCCL Cinque Terre tour 3 times. Each time it was different and loved it. I would highly recommend it.

We did Cinque Terre on our own in Oct 2016 by taking the train to the most northern town in the region. We hiked to the second town and then took the train back stopping in each town and getting off the train walking around. It had rained so part of the trail was closed for hiking. This was one of the highlights of our trip.
