sweetpea916 Posted January 6, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2006 We'd like to book through a local tour operator for a tour that does both Dunns River Falls and the Tubing on the White River. From this board it looks like Peat TAylor is very highly recommended, but he doesn't have the river tubing listed as an option on his website. Is he flexible? Do you think he'd arrange it for us? I also found a couple other recommendations... Mark's Tours and Jamaica Cruise Excursions. Both look fine but just don't have anyone singing their praises the way you all have about Peat Taylor! Has anyone done any of these? Are they just as good as Peat Taylor? Thanks for your help!
TheWog Posted January 6, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2006 Peat Taylor will definitely take you to the White River tubing. He took us. Just email him and let him know what you would like to do. (A little secret, he will even have a cooler of Red Stripe for you if you ask). He charges you for the day and then will take you anywhere you want to go and is very flexible. He can also suggest other stops for you if you wish. http://www.peattaylor.com onieltay@hotmail.com
Tommy D Posted January 6, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2006 I did both with Peat taylor and he provided a tour of the area and we got in an hour ofe shopping at the market. We just told him in advance what we wanted to do. After everyone on his bus (about 20) did the falls he dropped our group of six at the falls, took the rest where they wanted to go then was waiting for us at the end of the river. Fantastic guy, fantastic day. I should also mention that when we got to the start point a large group had just started and there were no tubes. We had to wait for them to bring some back from the downstream end for about 1/2 hour. Peat would not leave til he saw that we were on our way down the river
cruise.freak Posted January 6, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2006 Is the water freezing at the falls of on the river? I am very cold natured and just my feet in cold water I would be shivering and not enjoy it.
Host Caroline Posted January 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 7, 2006 The water at the falls is definitely chilly when you hit some of the larger ones but it was so hot when we were there that NO one noticed:) If you are really really cold natured and just you feet being cold would ruin it for you.. maybe the falls aren't for you??? We've done twice .. great fun!
legalslave Posted January 7, 2006 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2006 Host Caroline, when you say the water at the Falls is cold, are you talking about the river tubing or Dunns River Falls? Diane
