edcarp Posted January 6, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2006 On June 17th NCL Spirit is doing a one-night cruise to nowhere out of NYC. Has anyone ever done this cruise? I'm thinking of booking several rooms to celebrate my 40th Bday. Any suggestions, ideas, comments? Thanks, Ed
palmtre2 Posted January 6, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2006 I've done a 2 nite to nowhere and while we had fun it was all too short and too expensive.
MarkMark Posted January 6, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2006 I did this same cruise in October and had a lot of fun. Bars and casinos get crowded (only one nite for peopel to maximize their fun) but otherwise a fun time. If you want reservations in a specialty resturant, board early and make reservation immediately. In any case its only a one niter so board early to get the most of it. We were one of the very first people on board, made reservations as soon as we entered, then dropped our stuff in the cabin. Had lunch in the main dining room then explored the ship had some drinks and relaxed. We had an early dinner (actually to early, we were just able to watch us sail by the Satue of Liberty, but had to leave the deck before we went under the Verazzano Narrows Bridge), after dinner drinks, went to the main show, then into the niteclub to see the comedian. Tried the casino after that, but too crowded and smoky for us. ALthough we stayed up late, we woke early to see us enter NYC in the morning, watched the docking process (seems like only men on their balconies watching this, no women) then breakfast and off the boat by 10am. brooklynphil Posted January 6, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2006 It was pretty good. I got 22 hours out of it. Just book the cheapest room because you're not gonna be in it too long. Phil
