newbie280106 Posted January 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2006 I'd appreciate some help, I remember reading some posts on how certain ports are on different times than the ship but can't get the search engine to work. I'm on voyager and will be visiting ocho rios, george town and cozumel later this month. (I've also heard that Daylight savings confuses things more) Can anyone clear this up for me? Thanks
springtxbill Posted January 7, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2006 No one can clear this up for sure. The closest you could come is to get an answer from someone that just came off the same ship and itenary. There is no set procedure consistent between ships and cruise lines. If I remember correctly from my Voyager cruise, they sometimes changed and other times did not. It seems if a ship is just going into a different time zone for only 1 day they will not change. TrentS Posted January 7, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2006 Whether to change the clocks or not is at the Captain's discretion... There's no answer to this question until you get onboard your ship!
Bequia Posted January 7, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2006 Bottom line is the ship always leaves on the ships time. ;)
newbie280106 Posted January 8, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted January 8, 2006 I guess I'll figure it out on board! Thanks for the replies
Boo's Mom Posted January 8, 2006 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2006 It is confusing...and it does require the research. Yes, I would check with the folks who are sailing right before you. Or...at least the exact ship/itinerary. Two people on an excursion. Two watches. One stays on ship time. One goes to local time. This might be helpful.
