westgrl Posted August 27, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2018 Has anyone done the cruise package (stay overnight, park car for the week & they shuttle you to & from the NYC pier) at Fairfield Inn & Suites in North Bergen? It's a fairly new hotel and the rate is cheaper than Hilton Garden Inn in Ridgefield. I am also aware of Hampton Inn in Ridgefield but really wanted to get feedback on Fairfield. Thank you! This package is a new offering. No reviews yet. Current hotel only reviews are good, but you should know that the hotel is on truck route 1&9, so review comments mention noise and sirens. It's in an industrial area with no services like restaurants and stores. If you decide to book this package, please post a review of your experience. Be sure to read the package description carefully. Hotel does also offer a shuttle to Secaucus Junction for the NJ Transit train to NYC if you want to make a separate trip into the city precruise. 138east Posted September 4, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2018 (edited) Very interested how this package compare to Hilton Garden Inn in Ridgefieldand Hampton Inn in price, location, safety of area, ect? I can't find reviews anywhere? Read the Trip Advisor reviews. Unfortunately, no reviews for the "cruise package". Look at the area on google earth - it's on the route 1& 9 truck route in a highly urban area with few services. If you can manage your luggage, you might want to consider parking at the ferry. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2675280 Unfortunately there is no optimal solution for cruising out of Manhattan if you have to lodge a car for the duration of your cruise.
